Job Description

This role is responsible for end‐to‐end ownership of the methodology, application, governance, and external articulation of key Group performance metrics. Acting as the authoritative subject matter expert, the role holder ensures consistency, technical integrity, and transparency from planning through to market disclosures. The role works closely with senior finance leaders, business units, and Investor Relations, and leads a small specialist team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as owner of methodology for key Group performance metrics used to manage the business, including:
    • Adjusted operating profit and operating change in CSM
    • Capital Generation and Solvency II
    • AUMA and flows
  • Own quarterly Group results production across profit and AUMA metrics, including:
    • Enhancement of end‐to‐end reporting processes
    • Preparation of governance papers and securing required sign‐offs
    • Clear explanation of results to senior stakeholders.
  • Apply and interpret methodology across all metrics for new products, changes in segments, and transactions, exercising judgement and resolving differing professional opinions.
  • Maintain an end‐to‐end ownership of key Group metrics from plan and forecast inputs through to outturn and actuals, with a deep understanding of the impact on targets and remuneration outcomes.
  • Lead and develop a small specialist team, building deep technical capability, strong professional judgement, and effective collaboration.
  • Own production of external reporting content, including the semi‐annual Business and Financial Review and Q1 and Q3 trading updates.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Investor Relations, providing guidance and challenge over market messaging.

  • Proven ability to influence, challenge, and resolve differing viewpoints at senior levels.
