The
Role: This role contributes to the oversight of NAV processes and fund financial reporting across M&G’s fund ranges.
It supports the delivery of a centralised fund accounting oversight model by helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of outputs produced by third party administrators (TPAs).
The role provides technical and accounting expertise, strengthens governance across the fund lifecycle and supports regulatory and structural change.
It also builds effective partnerships with TPAs and internal teams to uphold M&G’s risk and control framework across fund accounting, reporting, expense oversight and ongoing charges.
- Main Responsibilities
- Deliver NAV oversight and fund financial reporting oversight activities.
- Work closely with onshore and offshore partners, including India based colleagues.
- Carry out BAU oversight across complex technical areas within financial reporting, fund accounting and NAV oversight.
- Act as a subject matter expert for fund accounting oversight, including Fund, Financial Reporting and Costs & Charges.
- Perform error and risk validation, analyse control failures, support remediation activity and contribute to Risk & Compliance investigations.
- Provide technical fund accounting insights for fund launches, BAU integrations, mergers and inspecie events.
- Assess fund structures and TPAs, design and implement NAV checks and review fund related agreements and reconciliations.
- Offer technical inputs into product viability assessments, regulatory reporting and proof of concept exercises.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, controls and oversight.
- Conduct technical investigations and provide expert input within technical forums.
- Manage complex internal and external stakeholder queries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with TPAs and internal partners.
- Support the shape and maintenance of the control governance framework.
- Provide SME insights on fund structures and components across business areas and suppliers.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of fund regulations, risk and control frameworks, and accounting standards across jurisdictions.
- Expertise in NAV components, fund pricing and the workings of investment funds.
- Deep product knowledge across a wide range of fund structures including Section 110, LP/GP, FCP, RAIF, ICAV, QIF, ELTIF and LTAFs.
- Technical knowledge across UCITS (UK and Luxembourg), private debt, alternative credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, real estate, private assets and money market funds.
- Understanding of fund accounting regulations in Ireland, Luxembourg and the UK.
- Expertise in complex assets and valuation methodologies (private equity, private debt, derivatives, fixed income).
- Strong controls and governance mindset with the ability to distil complex issues and make clear decisions.
- Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to boards, auditors, clients and internal stakeholders.
- Accounting qualification or equivalent technical background.
