Role Summary
The Insurance Reporting team at M&G includes the Insurance Analysis team, which is responsible for the analysis of Financial Statements for M&G Insurance Reporting.
The reporting team has responsibility for the financial, statutory and regulatory reporting.
A vacancy has arisen for a qualified accountant in the Insurance analysis team.
The role covers a broad range of responsibilities but in the short term will focus on embedding the process for statutory liquidity reporting including formalising the process, controls and governance within BAU, as well as understanding the drivers of change to the reporting and meaning behind it.
Longer term the role will evolve to include all aspects of accounting analysis including IFRS and UKGAAP reporting bases.
- Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the monitoring of data provision, transformation, and governance for regulatory Liquidity reporting completes in required timescales.
- Responsible for embedding the regulatory Liquidity reporting within the BAU processes.
- Responsible for developing and agreeing the key controls and governance process required for senior management to sign off regulatory liquidity reporting on a monthly basis.
- Responsible for transitioning the liquidity reporting work to the relevant BAU teams once it is embedded.
- Initial management and oversight of the team involved in producing liquidity reporting ensuring that team members have appropriate skills, training and experience to perform their roles.
- Support the analysis of the regulated insurance entities Statutory results on a UK GAAP basis ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements and the supporting commentary on the results for the statutory board reports.
- Support the analysis of the regulated insurance entities contribution to Group on an IFRS basis ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements and the supporting commentary on the results for Group board reports.
- Work with other team leads within the Analysis team for commentary on IFRS and UK GAAP results including commentary and input into asset valuations
- Responsible for ensuring internal controls are effective, compliant and timely with applicable standards and regulations including quarterly attestation of the RCSA and Internal Controls Framework ensuring effectiveness, timeliness and completeness.
- Manage, coordinate, and support external audit process for areas of responsibility
- Support regulated insurance entity board and audit committee financial reporting production.
- Ensure compliance with current accounting standards and Insurance procedures to maintain a robust financial control regime and drive enhancement of the control environment
- Support and deliver finance change projects
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and maintain effective working relationships with other teams across M&G Finance, ensuring that Insurance reporting needs are communicated, understood and met.
