We make the extraordinary look effortless. You make sure it actually is. At MGN Events, we create live experiences that stop people in their tracks, corporate conferences, brand activations, immersive events, private parties, and everything in between. We’re a tight-knit, ambitious team that believes the best work happens when creative vision and technical brilliance are in total lockstep. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Technical Production Manager to own everything technical from first brief to final de-rig. You’ll be the person who reads a bold creative concept and immediately knows how to make it real, what it needs, what it costs, and how to deliver it without a single compromise on quality.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll sit at the heart of every project, picking up the brief from the Creative Team and carrying technical ownership all the way through to on-site delivery.
  • Working closely with our Creative Director and Creative Producer, you’ll be the bridge between creative ambition and real-world execution.
  • Taking the brief - from Creative Team and advising on the most appropriate production solution for the creative vision and budget.
  • Site visits — getting eyes on a venue early, asking the right questions, and flagging anything that could affect delivery before it becomes a problem.
  • Technical planning — producing 2D technical plans and interpreting drawings to inform production planning and supplier briefs.
  • Supplier selection and management — identifying the right partners for each job, negotiating effectively, and managing those relationships throughout.
  • Pre-production scheduling — building detailed timelines that keep every moving part on track and every stakeholder informed.
  • Budget management — owning the technical budget from initial quote through to reconciliation, protecting margin without cutting corners.
  • On-site management — leading the technical build and delivery on the ground, making calls in the moment, and ensuring the final product matches the vision.
  • Warehouse oversight — managing our Warehouse Coordinator to ensure kit is prepped, maintained, and moving where it needs to be.
  • Client interaction — occasionally joining the wider project team in a client-facing capacity, representing the technical function with confidence and clarity.
  • Reporting directly into our Head of Live.

What you bring

  • Solid experience in technical production within the live events, experiential, and brand experience industry.
  • A confident working knowledge of video (LED and projection), sound, lighting, stage & set, rigging and power.
  • The ability to produce and interpret 2D technical drawings.
  • Sharp commercial instincts — you can cost a job properly, manage a budget, and protect a margin.
  • Excellent supplier and stakeholder management; you build strong relationships and hold people to account when needed.
  • Exceptional communication skills — you translate technical language for creative people and creative ambition for technical suppliers without missing a beat.
  • Calm under pressure, decisive on site, and collaborative everywhere else.
  • A genuine passion for the craft of live — you care deeply about the finished product.

Why us

We’re small enough that your fingerprints are on everything, and ambitious enough that everything is worth being proud of. You’ll have real ownership, genuine creative input, and a team around you that’s as passionate about getting it right as you are.
