MGL Group is a well-established, family-run business founded in 1971, delivering a comprehensive range of services across the construction industry. Due to continued growth, increased demand, and ongoing investment, we are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an additional Weighbridge Operator to join our team at our Newburn, Newcastle site. This is a full-time, permanent position, covering both day and night working.
As a member of MGL Group, you will be committed to ensuring safe working conditions and adherence to all company principles, procedures, and regulations relevant to your role.
What we are looking for:
- Accurately produce tickets for materials coming both into and out of our depot/yard, ensuring vehicle, customer, material, delivery and tonnage details are all correct.
- Ensure phone calls are answered professionally and handled correctly.
- Have a polite and professional approach with customers, collecting materials and informing production staff of the customers’ tonnage and material requirements before loading.
- Liaise with the transport manager and the sales and production team to maximise the revenue of the transport, keeping idle time and dead miles of our vehicles to a minimum.
- Liaise with our other weighbridges when required.
- Reporting any concerns about delivery times, materials quality, material availability, health.
