Due to continued growth and investment, we are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team at our Barton site, Middleton Quarry Barton Quarry Industrial Estate, Barton, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL10 6NF, on a full-time, permanent basis.

As a member of MGL Group, you will be committed to maintaining safe working practices and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations relevant to your role.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator with proven experience operating excavators within a quarry, construction, or similar heavy industry environment.

You will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the quarry while working closely with the site team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate excavators for quarry operations, including material extraction, loading, and stockpile management.
  • Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine inspections of plant equipment.
  • Identify and report any defects, faults, or safety concerns.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices.
  • Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to achieve production targets.
  • Comply with all company policies, site rules, and health and safety procedures.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Valid excavator operator certification (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience within a quarry or heavy plant environment is desirable.
  • Good understanding of quarry health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

About the Job

  • Working hours Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Saturday, 7:00 am – 1:00 pm.
