The Role
We are seeking a Senior GIS Consultant to join our Professional Services team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role combining technical delivery, consultancy, and solution design. You will work closely with our Product and Services teams to design, develop, and deliver GIS solutions for a range of clients. You will also act as a trusted advisor, helping customers maximise the value of geospatial technologies. This role is suited to an experienced GIS professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with clients, and contributing to high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of GIS solutions for clients across multiple sectors
- Engage with clients to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Provide technical consultancy, implementation, and support for GIS platforms
- Develop and configure GIS applications, workflows, and integrations
- Act as a technical lead on projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and best practice
- Support pre-sales activities, including technical input to proposals and solution design
- Promote best practices in GIS, data management, and system integration
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in the GIS industry
- Strong experience delivering GIS projects in a consultancy or client-facing environment
- Advanced use of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Development experience using Python (ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python) and Arcade
- Experience with GIS system integration and enterprise environments
- Solid understanding of data management, quality control, and spatial data infrastructures
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g. FME or ArcGIS Data Interoperability)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think both logically and creatively
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to balance delivery trade-offs
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
- Experience in Utilities, AEC, or Environmental sectors
- Experience with ArcGIS Utility Network
- Knowledge of RDBMS (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle)
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Experience Builder (including Developer Edition)
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure)
- Knowledge of CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360)
- Experience with mobile GIS (Field Maps, Survey123)
- Experience with high-accuracy GNSS
