The Role
We are seeking a GIS Consultant to join our Professional Services team. This is a hands-on role focused on technical delivery, solution development, and supporting client engagements. You will work alongside experienced consultants and product specialists to design, develop, and implement GIS solutions. You will also contribute to client interactions, supporting workshops, requirement gathering, and solution delivery while continuing to develop your consultancy skills. This role is ideal for a GIS professional looking to build on their experience in a collaborative environment, with opportunities to grow into more client-facing and leadership responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of GIS solutions for clients across multiple sectors
- Work with senior team members to understand client requirements and contribute to solution design
- Assist in client workshops, presentations, and requirement-gathering activities
- Develop and configure GIS applications, workflows, and data processes
- Provide technical support, implementation, and troubleshooting for GIS platforms
- Contribute to project delivery, ensuring quality and timely outputs to agreed budgets
- Deliver training and support to clients, both remotely and on-site
- Promote best practices in GIS, data management, and quality control
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver effective and scalable solutions
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in the GIS industry
- Experience contributing to GIS project delivery
- Experience working with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Development experience using Python (ArcPy or ArcGIS API for Python) and/or Arcade
- Understanding of GIS data management and quality control principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to engage with clients and develop client-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
- Experience in Utilities, AEC, or Environmental sectors
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Experience Builder
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g. FME or ArcGIS Data Interoperability)
- Knowledge of RDBMS (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle)
- Exposure to CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360)
- Experience with mobile GIS (Field Maps, Survey123)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure)
- Experience with high-accuracy GNSS
