MGI Engineering Ltd is looking for a Senior Composite Design Engineer to join our highly skilled team
to deliver cutting-edge solutions in the aerospace, automotive, motorsport and marine sectors. MGI

based in Witney, Oxfordshire, delivering innovative technology solutions to wider mainstream and newly

The technical team leverages its extensive experience in the F1 industry to deliver customised, highly
innovative solutions to meet our clientβs specific requirements within different sectors. Our DNA is rooted

The ideal candidate will be skilled in CAD modelling NX or Catia preferable and Detail Design of both
Composite and Metallic components for aircraft, vehicle and other sectors.
Reporting to the CEO, this position will involve:
β’ Design and CAD modelling of composite components.
β’ Analysing and interpreting customer requirements.
β’ Preparation of detail designs and laminate books.
β’ Interaction with Aerodynamic and Stress departments to ensure full compliance with concept
intent and structural integrity.
β’ Continuous development of designs and process to keep best practices.
β’ Fully compliant with the company quality standards AS 9100D.
β’ Lead and mentor junior designers to ensure company standards are achieved.
β’ Supporting the Test team as required to explore and validate technical solutions.
Basic Qualifications / Experience:
β’ Educated to Minimum HND level /Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
β’ At least 10 years of experience working in a relevant industrial environment.
β’ A sound knowledge of computer aided design preferably NX11.
β’ Understanding of manufacturing techniques of composite components and tooling.
β’ Ability to apply your knowledge to solve fundamental engineering solutions.
β’ Experienced user of CAD surfacing tools and procedures.
β’ Ability to communicate complex ideas so that they are understood by different audiences.
β’ Fluent in spoken and written English language.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
β’ Experience working with multiple types of vehicle, including aircraft and automotive, including
motorsports.
β’ Proficient user of NX or Catia V5 or V6.
β’ Previous experience in leading a small team or project is essential.
β’ Hands-on experience with composite materials.
β’ Knowledge and experience of pre-preg and infusion laminating techniques.
