MGI Engineering Ltd is looking for a Head of Motorsports Engineering to join our highly skilled team to
deliver cutting-edge solutions in the aerospace, automotive, motorsport and marine sectors. MGI
Engineering is accelerating the creation of technologies towards a net carbon zero future.

Founded in 2003 by our CEO Mike Gascoyne, MGI Engineering has circa 20 full-time engineering staff
based in Witney, Oxfordshire, delivering innovative technology solutions to wider mainstream and newly
developing industry sectors. We are a very dynamic team with many exciting clients and projects. We
pride ourselves on having a can-do attitude.

The technical team leverages its extensive experience in the F1 industry to deliver customised, highly
innovative solutions to meet our client’s specific requirements within different sectors. Our DNA is rooted
in extensive, fast-paced R&D development, on-time and within-budget delivery, and reliance on a trusted
international network of partners and specialists. We believe in sustainability, mobility and reusable
energy technology across all our supported sectors.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in CAD modelling NX (preferable) or Catia with significant design
experience of both composite and metallic components for high-performing vehicles. Further, the
candidate will have significant experience managing a technical team through multiple projects.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer, this role will be responsible for:

β€’ Leading a variety of end-to-end Motorsport projects, with a focus on timely and cost-effective delivery.
β€’ Leading, managing, and mentoring a multidisciplinary technical team, promoting continuous
development and fostering innovative thinking.
β€’ Collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure alignment with key business objectives and
performance indicators.
β€’ Supporting the Commercial team in technical discussions with prospective clients and contributing to
successful project acquisition.
β€’ Interpreting and translating customer requirements into actionable design and engineering solutions.
β€’ Overseeing and reviewing engineering designs and manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance
with internal quality standards.
β€’ Driving the continual improvement of design practices and engineering processes.
β€’ Ensuring adherence to company quality standards, including AS 9100D (training available if required).
β€’ Championing process optimisation and the introduction of new engineering methodologies.
β€’ Providing technical support during prototype testing and validation phases as needed.

Basic Qualifications and Experience
β€’ Minimum HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
β€’ 15+ years of industry experience, including 10+ years in motorsport or similarly demanding high-
performance environments.
β€’ Expert-level proficiency in CAD modelling, preferably with Siemens NX.
β€’ In-depth knowledge of the design and manufacturing of composite and metallic components.
β€’ Ability to apply your knowledge to solve fundamental engineering solutions.
β€’ Demonstrated experience in leading and developing engineering teams in a project-based
environment.
β€’ Strong communicator with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to
both technical and non-technical audiences.
β€’ Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
β€’ Extensive experience working in F1 or other high-performance racing series.
β€’ Proven ability to manage multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously, balancing priorities
and deadlines effectively.
β€’ Experienced user of CAD surfacing tools and advanced modelling techniques.
β€’ Hands-on experience with mechanical materials and manufacturing processes.
β€’ Proficient in using engineering project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar)
to plan, track, and deliver technical programmes.
