MGF are currently seeking to recruit a Hire Controller Apprentice to join our Hire Desk team at our Stanton depot near Bury St.

Edmunds.

Your main responsibility will be to assist the Hire Desk department with managing enquiries on the hire desk and converting them into hire business whilst developing your knowledge of hire processes, MGF equipment, transport planning, customer service and commercial awareness through on-the-job learning and formal apprenticeship training.

As a Hire Controller apprentice at MGF, you will take part in a structured training programme studying the Level 2 Hire Controller apprenticeship standard and completing the associated end point assessment (EPA).

MGF is committed to supporting professional development, during this time you will be trained and mentored by your experienced colleagues and receive on-the-job training and support.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include

  • Assisting with receiving orders (on-hires) and requests for collections (off hires)
  • Supporting with planning transport for deliveries and collections
  • Efficient running and co-ordinating of internal and external haulage
  • Assisting with the preparation and issue of hire quotations
  • Supporting the hire desk team with processing damage reports, obtaining information relating to damages and assisting with customer communications.
  • Assisting the Hire Desk Team with administration

The core skill requirements of this role are

  • Administration and organisation skills.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE's grade 9-4 or equivalent (including Maths and English).
  • Interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • IT Skills with a good working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn and take up new challenges.
  • Self-motivated and be able to work effectively within a team.
