MGF are recruiting an Area Sales & Regional Account Manager based at our Bristol depot. This role is for a proven professional with exceptional construction sector and commercial knowledge and ability. They will have a proven track record of business-to-business success and be able to demonstrate a contemporary leadership style with particular focus on continued professional development, succession planning and empowerment of their teams. This role will require a visionary approach to ensure our customer's needs are continuously evaluated, understood and filtered into our approach to customer-facing activities.
You will be responsible for working collaboratively with our core sales, engineering, account management and marketing teams assisting in the development and implementation of the sales and marketing plans ensuring a fully integrated and collaborative ethos that achieves maximum customer value. This role will require an experienced professional to oversee the day-to-day management of the regionally based sales team and work closely with other parts of the business to maximise return on all sales enquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the TSR's appointments, diaries, schedules, and time by effective planning of call, travel and meetings.
- Understand customer's requirements, providing technical assistance and ensuring delivery of optimum solutions.
- Ensure ongoing excellent management of the customers and their expectations.
- Ensure quality eDRF's are submitted to the design team.
- Ensure all information passed to the operations team is clear and concise enabling best responses.
- Undertake regular live hire report reviews and liaise with the operations team on any anomalies and where necessary liaise with the customer to close out potential issues before invoicing.
- Actively support the resolution of damages.
- Provide the necessary after sales activity to ensure all contracts are concluded successfully.
- Ensure all Glenigan leads, and other sources are suitably qualified by all TSR's and sales support.
- Ensure Sales Support provide consistent lead generation and optimise support to the TSR's.
- Ensure all opportunities are pursued in a timely manner by TSR's.
- Ensure area coverage is maintained during periods of annual leave by the TSR's.
- Undertake supplementary site visits when TSR's are busy.
- Work closely with the Regional Engineer (RE) to ensure appropriate projects are supported.
Team & Performance Management:
- Provide day to day management to the Technical Sales Representatives (TSR's) with a positive attitude.
- Ensure all inductions into the business are undertaken in a comprehensive manner.
- Work with the Senior Management (SM) to ensure any recruitment activity is proactively pursued.
- Undertake monthly one to one reviews with the TSR's.
- Work closely with the SM to agree & deliver short-term targets.
- Ensure training requirements are planned, completed, and coordinated.
- Feedback to the SM on area performances enabling insightful & progressive discussions.
- Provide recovery plans for areas where revenue is behind budget.
- Ensure all TSR's & sale support holiday allocations are coordinated.
- Participate in interviews for new TSR's or sales support.
- Escalate any issues to SM you feel are impacting the day-to-day performance of the TSR's.
- Discuss any exceptional performance issues of TSR's with your line manager.
- Work closely with the SM to complete annual appraisals in line with HR directive.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements (Essential):
- Utilities infrastructure construction experience.
- Competent to support front-line operational staff.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, safety and statutory regulations.
- Logical and organised.
- Capable of producing and signing of programme of works.
- Excellent time management.
