As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Product Technologist to join our Product team.

The Role

As Product Technologist for MG&Co. you'll play an important role in supporting the development and ongoing management of our product range.

You'll work with suppliers, internal teams and external testing partners to help maintain product quality, ensure compliance with international regulations and support our sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Quality
  • Manage quality assurance throughout the product development process.
  • Review and assess product samples against specifications and quality standards.
  • Record and monitor product issues, helping identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Lead factory quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate product specifications and technical documentation.
  • Investigate customer quality concerns and product returns.
  • Product Compliance
  • Coordinate product testing with accredited laboratories.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and technical files.
  • Ensure products meet relevant UK, EU and US legislation where applicable.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain declarations, certificates and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor changes in product regulations and communicate any impacts to the wider business.
  • Sustainability
  • Assist with gathering supplier and product sustainability information and certifications.
  • Support projects to improve product sustainability, materials and packaging.
  • Monitor environmental data and support reporting requirements.
  • Work with suppliers to improve transparency and responsible sourcing.
  • Contribute to initiatives that support MG&Co.'s B Corp commitments.
  • Supplier & Cross-Functional Support
  • Build positive relationships with manufacturing partners across Europe and the Far East.
  • Work closely with Product, Operations and Customer Service teams.
  • Help ensure products move smoothly from concept through to launch.
  • Support continuous improvement projects across the product function.

About You

  • A degree or qualification in Product Design, Product Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Sustainability or a related subject
  • 4+ years relevant experience with hard goods and/or lighting
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Methodical, and confident working with data and documentation
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to manage upwards and downwards
  • A collaborative approach with experience in stakeholder management
