We are seeking a highly experienced and technically astute Technical Programme Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale technical change programmes and drive strategic initiatives. Working closely with the Head of Technology, this role is pivotal in translating business strategy into executable technology programmes that deliver measurable value across the organisation. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a proven track record in managing complex, cross-functional delivery programmes, ideally within regulated environments. They will be responsible for ensuring alignment between technology delivery and strategic business goals, while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large technical programmes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Partner with the Head of Technology and senior stakeholders to shape and deliver the technology roadmap.
- Manage cross-functional teams including software engineers, architects, analysts, and third-party vendors.
- Establish and maintain robust programme governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication frameworks.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues across multiple workstreams.
- Ensure adherence to delivery frameworks including Agile, Prince2, and ITIL.
- Oversee transition to operational teams, ensuring effective handover, documentation, and training.
- Champion continuous improvement in delivery practices, tooling, and team performance.
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in technical programme or project management, ideally within financial services or other regulated sectors.
- Demonstrable experience delivering enterprise-scale applications and infrastructure programmes using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, DevOps, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and offshore delivery teams.
- Familiarity with ITIL and service delivery frameworks.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. PMP, Prince2, Agile Scrum Master/Product Owner).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable delivery plans.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Skilled at influencing and driving change across technical and business domains.
