Begin your career journey in Finance: Join M&G’s Eight-Week Summer Internship. Join us on 22 June 2026 for an eight week internship to gain hands-on experience, develop technical and professional skills, and build a strong understanding of Finance within the Financial Services Industry. Your journey will start with a cohort-wide induction, with focused insight sessions to help you learn more about M&G, network with colleagues, and begin developing your professional skills.

You will then take part in a structured programme, including:

  • Team Placement: Join one team for eight weeks where you will take on meaningful work, contribute to live projects, and shadow experienced colleagues to gain a solid understanding of Finance.
  • Group Project: An opportunity to collaborate with your peers on a business project, developing teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional Development: Take part in interactive learning sessions and networking opportunities designed to grow your expertise and build your professional network.
  • Your Support Network: Regular check-ins with the Early Careers Team, your manager, and a buddy will ensure you have all the support you need during the programme.

This internship is your first step toward a career in Finance. At the end of the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for one of our Finance Graduate Programmes (Accounting, Actuarial, or General Finance) starting in September 2027.

What will you be doing? By joining our Finance function, you’ll play a meaningful role in helping M&G generate value for the organisation. Finance is at the heart of strategic decision-making - delivering insights, balancing stakeholder needs, and ensuring robust controls and governance to safeguard assets and enhance performance.

Interns at M&G make valuable contributions to the teams they work in, and you could be involved in a variety of tasks across our teams:

  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to support accounting, valuation processes, and gain practical exposure to Finance operations.
  • Understand reporting cycles and processes, including how financial results are prepared and communicated across the business.
  • Gain insights into how Finance supports business developments and projects, ensuring good outcomes for internal and external customers.
  • Get exposure to the latest IT systems and technologies used in Finance, learning how digital tools and AI enable efficient reporting and analysis.
  • Contribute to projects and process improvements, bringing fresh ideas, supporting data governance, and helping implement new workflows.
  • Engage with stakeholders and knowledge-sharing sessions, attending meetings and collaborating across teams to broaden your network and understanding.

Minimum Requirements: Expected graduation date of Summer 2027 (You will be a penultimate year student, or final year student intending to study a Master’s degree). Available to start the programme on 22 June 2026. Right to Work in the UK at the time of application - we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for our internship programmes.
