Role Summary
This is a senior, high-impact leadership role with responsibility for shaping and delivering the firm’s Investment Proposition across insured funds, smoothed solutions, OEICs and Model Portfolio Services. The role sits at the heart of the business’s growth strategy in the UK advised wealth and retirement market, combining deep investment expertise with strong commercial judgement to ensure propositions are competitive, scalable and aligned to adviser Centralised Investment and Retirement Propositions. As the senior owner of investment propositions and governance, the role plays a critical part in delivering strong, sustainable customer outcomes while supporting asset growth, retention and adviser adoption. Working closely with the CIO, Distribution and Product Proposition teams, the successful candidate will guide and influence the long-term strategic direction of the business, working with the Investment Office and external partnerships to build a market-leading proposition and reinforce the firm’s position as a trusted partner to advisers and their clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Investment Proposition development and management across insured fund range, insured smoothed fund range, curated internal and external OEIC ranges ensuring a compelling proposition for the UK advised market.
- Create and deliver the Investment Proposition strategy and multi-year roadmap, strengthening competitiveness within targeted adviser Centralised Investment Propositions (CIPs) and Centralised Retirement Propositions (CRPs).
- Develop the smoothed fund strategy for growing the distribution of smoothed funds across in-house and third party solutions including the rationalisation of the ranges.
- Provide market-led design preferences into the Life Investment Office who are responsible for structuring, execution and monitoring our multi-asset solutions; aiming for a clear and consistent narrative across the fund ranges.
- Curate the OEIC range (both internal and external OEICs) available in our open architecture products.
- Collaborate with in-house and external MPS providers to create a strong complementary smoothed fund MPS range suitable for the target market it is designed for.
- Act as senior owner with delegated responsibility for the Consumer Duty and conduct aspects of the fund ranges for both open and closed investment propositions.
- Provide visible leadership on ESG and responsible investment, communicating sustainability preferences into proposition design and proposition reviews.
- Own the investment communications agenda for the adviser market, collaborating with marketing and Life Investment Office to deliver clear, compliant, and adviser-relevant investment insight and key marketing messages.
- Work with the Life Investment Office and Distribution to ensure all fund related communication is market leading and meets all standards of customer understanding and adviser needs.
- Lead and develop a high-performing investment proposition team, establishing clear accountabilities, governance cadence, and cross-functional collaboration with Product, Distribution, LIO, Risk, Compliance, and Operations.
- Ensure all propositions support good customer outcomes, clear target market definitions, ongoing value, and alignment with UK regulatory expectations while maintaining commercial competitiveness.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Senior leadership experience in investment management, wealth, insurance, or DFM environments, with accountability for multi-asset investment propositions.
- Knowledge of retail market investment solutions, adviser-facing ecosystem and adviser investment communication experience, with the ability to articulate complex investment concepts clearly and credibly to UK wealth advisers and platforms.
- Experience in retirement-focused solutions, including decumulation, volatility management, or smoothed outcomes within CRP-aligned propositions.
Desirable
- Deep experience of multi-asset portfolios across insured funds, smoothed funds and/or OEIC structures, including risk management, and performance oversight.
- Proven experience of MPS design and governance, including either in-house discretionary models, outsourced DFM arrangements, or hybrid/co-manufactured solutions.
- Experience leading or shaping ESG / responsible investment integration, including stewardship expectations and governance of sustainability claims.
