The Role:

Onboarding Manager – 12mth FTC

The role of Business Solutions is to provide an analysis, designand implementation capability across Investment Management for product launches and related changes,ensuring that M&G Investment’s operating models arerobust, scalable and flexible. We also provide a transition planning and execution capability to enable the safe transition ofassets to and fromour clients or funds during the onboarding of new mandates or closure/mergerof any of our current product range. This involves scoping and assessing change across the end-to-end investment value chain. Typically the team will work closely with colleagues from across the organisation such as Investment teams, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations as well as with our external supplier network.

This role will have responsibility for managing a team of ten multi-skilled Onboarding Specialists who undertake market facing onboarding activities relating to fund and products launches and new instruments. . The team also act as subject matter experts for markets and changes to operating model as well as support activities relating to monitoring of the middle office outsource provider. The role will also oversee key governance processes.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

Reporting to Head of Business Solutions, this is a management role accountable for a team of ten Onboarding Specialists who will deliver the activities M&G is responsible for in relation to new fund and product launches, new instruments and markets. The team will ensure that the overall capability for these are jointly serviced with the middle office outsource provider. They will also be responsible for escalations tracking, and periodic tasks covering updates to authorised signatories and audits.

  • Manage a team of circa Ten Onboarding Specialists.Perform appraisals, ensuring their development is tracked through regular 1:1 meetings and progress reviews.
  • Oversee and manage the pipeline of open fund launches originating from fund/client launches and existing funds
  • Co-ordinate with internal stakeholders (legal, compliance, operations etc) to ensure timely and accurate onboarding.
  • Attend regular meetings with suppliers to discuss and drive open requests and understand dependencies and issues affecting completion.
  • Provide support to Supplier Oversight Team in all initiatives relating to administration of the function (i.e. review service review packs, ad hoc data reconciliations, management of risk actions)
  • Act as a final point of escalation for stakeholders, supporting team to resolve these.
  • Be accountable for the definition and production of robust MI to enable team to benchmark suppliers and provide effective feedback to them to drive service improvement.
  • Input into New Market and Instrument Due Diligences
  • Ensure that the team monitors, validates and addresses day-to-day queries in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Be accountable for the implementation of all audit and risk assurance actions arising from the team, ensuring there is a robust assessment and reporting process in place.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve onboarding efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee /maintain and update onboarding procedures and checklists.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience – Required:

  • Experience in managing a small team with well-developed people management skills
  • Experience in client fund onboarding across multiple products e.g Custody, Derivatives, Treasury
  • Understanding of fund structures (e.g., UCITS, AIFs, OEICs, SICAVs), regulatory frameworks, and operational workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple fund launches simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Tenacious and self-motivated
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally
  • Strong knowledge of end to end operations model for investment management (front to back understanding)
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills to support the escalation of issues and suggestion of appropriate solutions
