The Financial Crime Monitoring and Assurance Consultant is an experienced role with day-to-day responsibility for executing financial crime assurance over internal and external 2LoD functions and Business Unit 1LoD financial crime functions in the UK and globally, where delegated.
Financial crime responsibilities:
- Support the maintenance of the Financial Crime Assurance Framework in line with Risk Management Framework and Assurance Standard.
- Execute financial crime assurance activities over internal and external 2LoD functions and Business Unit 1LoD financial crime functions in the UK and globally, where delegated, in accordance with the annual plan.
- Support execution of independent financial crime controls testing activities over the Group 2LoD Financial Crime controls as part of the risk and controls-self assessment for Group 2LoD Financial Crime.
- Support the execution of Quality Control checks over Group Financial Crime Function and UK 2LoD.
- Support the execution of the assurance plan for 2LoD financial assurance over 1LoD.

- Other tasks and activities within the scope of your role or team as required from time to time.
Essential skill requirements:
- Experience within financial crime and being able to demonstrate deep understanding of the financial crime risks inherent in the asset management and/or insurance sectors.
- Experienced in executing ongoing thematic reviews on financial crime controls and processes and in identifying improvement needs.
- Experienced in preparing reports on monitoring outcomes for senior management including MLRO, governance committees and leadership team.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and demonstrates the ability to assess complex processes, identify control weaknesses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Good communications and report writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate findings to the Financial Crime Monitoring and Assurance Manager and Financial Crime Monitoring and Assurance Lead.
- Familiarity with handling and analyzing large data sets would be a plus, but is not essential.
