Corporate Pension Solutions (CPS) is a division within M&G Life with a remit to design and deliver bulk purchase annuities and alternative de‑risking products for Defined Benefit pension schemes. Due to ongoing success and a strong opportunity, the team is adding headcount in a number of areas. The CPS Actuarial Specialist is responsible for the post‑sale pricing process, the MAG approval process, supporting the member option process and providing broader support for the CPS operations team.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Management of the post‑sale pricing process, including compliance with all contractual terms, management of the CPS post‑sale pricing, completion of all key controls, validation of the output from the pricing team and production of sign‑off documents for the CPS MD.
- Key point of contact for the development of methodology for all CPS member option calculations.
- Own the Matching Adjustment deal approval process including production of paper to the Matching Adjustment Group (MAG).
- Broader support within the CRS Operations team to deliver and maintain BPA business.
- Development of scalable solutions including the development of robust processes and controls.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on challenges to assumptions and calculations.
- Drive continuous improvement through innovation and the seeking out and acting on new opportunities.
- Provide management information to appropriate governance forums.
- Support the delivery of other elements of the CPS business plan.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical actuarial skills.
- Qualified actuary preferred, however we welcome part qualified candidates to apply.
- Problem solving skills.
- Financial Services & Insurance knowledge, especially around defined benefit pension de‑risking, with profits and reinsurance.
- Experience of managing a number of internal parties to ensure delivery of contractual deliverables.
- Passion for the customer.
- Pension Technical knowledge.
- Effective written and presentation skills.
- High degree of honesty, integrity and discretion.
