The Role: Corporate Risk Solutions Portfolio Director

M&G Life serves over 5 million customers with more than £300 Bn invested across its products, aiming for ambitious growth beyond 2025. The operations collaborate with partners like Equiniti, Diligenta, Waystone, Paragon, Willis Towers Watson, and M&G Global Services.

Role Overview:

Leading the delivery of complex, high-value transformation portfolios (£15m–£50m) across multiple business areas, ensuring strategic alignment, portfolio health, and measurable value. Requires a confident leader with extensive experience in technical and non-technical change and pragmatic delivery at pace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead end-to-end portfolio delivery aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage direct reports and oversee PMO resources.
  • Shape and influence strategy with stakeholders across functions.
  • Lead governance forums and ensure portfolio health through OKRs and compliance.
  • Drive benefits tracking and realization.
  • Champion delivery standards and build relationships across senior leadership.
  • Navigate ambiguity, prioritize, and challenge constructively.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience leading large-scale transformation portfolios in complex organizations.
  • Strong commercial acumen focused on outcomes and value.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and manage stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Deep understanding of technical and non-technical change, with financial services experience preferred.
  • Qualifications such as CFA, actuarial, or accounting are advantageous.
  • Pragmatic, high-standard team leader.
