The Role: Risk Management Senior Specialist is an experienced role supporting the Policy, Governance & Oversight Team Lead with responsibility to manage the definition and implementation of the Business Unit Risk Appetite (“BU RA”) and execution of the Business Unit Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (“BU EWRA”) across the Asset Management business.
Main Responsibilities:
- Define the BU RA in line with the Group Financial Crime Risk Appetite Framework.
- Execute and document the BU EWRA in line with the Group Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment Framework and Methodology and communicate outputs across the business.
- Provide input into the register of key financial crime risks and 1LoD controls.
- Support the development of plans to mitigate financial crime risks identified in the BU EWRA and track implementation of mitigating actions.
- Maintain the register of key financial crime risks and Asset Management 1LoD financial crime controls.
- Define and monitor Key Risk Indicators (“KRIs”) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track performance against the BU RA, providing regular reporting to senior management.
- Produce Transaction Monitoring (“TM”) and Fraud typologies and threat-based scenarios in line with the BU EWRA output, and using intelligence received from the Central 2LoD Investigations and FIU Team.
- Provide financial crime input into the Business Unit Risk & Control Self-Assessment (“BU RCSA”).
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience within risk appetite and assessment definition and execution.
- Significant experience within financial crime.
- Ability to demonstrate a deep subject matter expertise of the financial crime risks inherent in the Asset Management sector.
- Ability to demonstrate deep understanding of risk mitigation controls and control implementation, including TM and fraud typologies and controls.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders within the financial crime and business teams.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
