The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for leading the delivery of complex analysis within programmes and portfolios. The Senior BA will be responsible for the high level design and analysis, working on requirement definition and decomposition before these are handed to the feature teams in the studio. They are also responsible for providing oversight and guidance to Business analysts within feature teams, ensuring that business outcomes are achieved through high‑quality, value‑driven solutions.

Role Purpose

The role involves providing leadership in business analysis across portfolios, advocating best practices, and fostering growth within the business analysis community. We seek a motivated candidate with a solid track record in business analysis to collaborate with technology teams in our Life and Savings business, assisting in launching new products, improving existing ones, and implementing regulatory updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Business Analysis Outcomes: Deliver complex analysis outcomes with a business area or project, ensuring alignment with business goals. Collaborate on QA approach to ensure quality and completeness of solutions. Collaborate with Tech Leads and Senior Engineers to develop requirements and solutions. Support strategic planning and long‑term transformation by contributing to planning and analysis. Understand the technology across Life Tech and be comfortable working in a technology team. Work with other change disciplines such as Product Owners, Service Design and Change Business Analysts to collaborate on complex problems.
  • Ambassador for BA Ways of Working: Embed BA ways of working and promote consistency across teams. Facilitate agile ceremonies and backlog refinement from a BA perspective. Contribute to the BA Best Practices to support continuous improvement. Build relationships with peers and senior stakeholders.
  • Gatekeeper for Business Value: Validate the business value of solutions to ensure they meet business needs. Contribute to prioritisation and unblock delivery issues to maintain progress.
  • Enable Agile Delivery and Automation: Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to align analysis with delivery pipelines. Define and execute the Defect Loop within the studio to ensure quality and traceability.
  • Non‑Functional Requirements Ownership: Document non‑functional requirements and ensure they are addressed in solution design.
  • Link with BA Community: Participate in BA community and own initiatives to share knowledge and promote best practices. Mentor and coach junior analysts to build capability and confidence within a project setting. Support team morale and psychological safety to foster a positive work environment. Seek and apply feedback for personal development and continuous improvement. Contribute to the onboarding of new resources to the business analysis community.
  • Strategic Planning: Support strategic planning and transformation efforts by contributing insights and analysis. Identify, contribute to, and own BA strategy initiatives to support continuous improvements and community.
