Corporate Risk Solutions (CRS) is a division within M&G Life with a remit to design and deliver bulk purchase annuities and alternative de-risking products for Defined Benefit pension schemes. Due to ongoing success, a strong opportunity set, and ambitious growth plans, the team is adding headcount in a number of areas.
The CRS Pricing team has a broad remit across four key areas:
- New business pricing for BPAs and alternative de-risking solutions;
- Developing and maintaining the pricing assumptions and methodology framework;
- Ownership of the pricing model & process infrastructure;
- Development and management of the financial performance framework and pricing strategy for new business.
We're looking for an exceptional individual to lead development of the pricing platform and end-to-end new business processes as CRS accelerates its growth plans - there’s significant scope to shape the role in line with the experience, ambition and vision of the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Overall ownership of tools, systems and model infrastructure across pricing and associated workstreams, including liability cashflow engine, capital projection model, integrated data management, asset portfolio construction and financial reporting reconciliation.
- Design, build and deliver short, medium and long term Platform and Process strategy in partnership with stakeholders across Life, Finance and Technology teams.
- Oversee tools and systems outsourcing arrangements where required.
- Identify and deliver day-to-day process automation solutions across the CRS business.
- Build a close partnership with broader CRS Pricing team and the wider business to deliver process enhancement, build technical capability, and drive continuous improvement across multiple shared workstreams and projects.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrable track record of development and ownership of DB liability cashflow models.
- Excellent software development skills (Python, C#, VB, R and RAFM experience most valuable).
- Qualified Actuary or actuarial skillset required.
- Strong understanding of IFRS17 and Solvency UK for life insurance, in particular balance sheet construction, liability discounting, asset strategy & ALM valuable.
- Ambitious and self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative/prioritise workload to strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
