Corporate Risk Solutions (CRS) is a division within M&G Life with a remit to design and deliver bulk purchase annuities and alternative de-risking products for Defined Benefit pension schemes. Due to ongoing success, a strong opportunity set, and ambitious growth plans, the team is adding headcount in a number of areas.
The CRS Pricing team has a broad remit across four key areas:
- New business pricing for BPAs and alternative de-risking solutions;
- Developing and maintaining the pricing assumptions and methodology framework;
- Ownership of the pricing model & process infrastructure;
- Development and management of the financial performance framework and pricing strategy for new business.
We’re looking for an exceptional individual to own our financial performance framework as CRS accelerates its growth plans.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Overall responsibility for the development and management of the financial performance framework for BPA business and associated products.
- Set and manage pricing and reinsurance strategy in line with the financial performance framework, in partnership with New Business Pricing, Origination & Execution, and other senior stakeholders across M&G Life and Finance.
- Support CRS MD, M&G Life Commercial Finance and M&G Life exec with ad hoc queries, analysis and broader finance/strategy development as required.
- Partner with Commercial Finance and FP&A in annual business planning cycle and broader FP&A activity.
- Work with colleagues from across the business and outsourcing partners to build and integrate commercial, investment, longevity, reinsurance, balance sheet management and structuring development workstreams into the financial performance framework.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Commercially minded Actuary with exceptional technical skills.
- Deep understanding of IFRS17 and Solvency UK for life insurance, in particular balance sheet construction and optimisation, liability discounting, asset strategy & ALM.
- Experience of Pricing and/or financial management of BPAs.
- Understanding of non-standard capital and reinsurance structures valuable.
- Ambitious and self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative/prioritise workload to strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
