The Role
Within the perimeter of the M&G Marketing division, this role is primarily responsible for the delivery of compliant marketing communications created and managed across the Asset Management business in all the different markets and jurisdictions where M&G Investments operates. Part of the 1st line of defence framework, this position can offer the opportunity to take on the role of a compliance professional, while being part of the Marketing division, within the M&G Asset Management Marketing Communications Compliance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage reviews and approvals of Marketing Communications for Asset Management to ensure delivery of clear, consistent and appropriate communications to customers and stakeholders, with a particular focus on UK marketing initiatives.
- Support and become a point of reference for the team in the delivery of ongoing continuous improvements to strengthen the control environment, drawing on creativity and digital agility to find opportunities to work in easier ways.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, using data and other sources of information to prompt ongoing improvements.
- Bring wider financial promotions and marketing communications regulatory knowledge, using skills and experience to apply sound judgement.
- Be accountable for delivering a quality service and product to customers and stakeholders.
- Conduct quality assurance of the communications approved by Asset Management staff on a delegated basis (‘Business Approvals’) to ensure adherence to the 'Marketing Compliance Control Framework'.
- Adapt to change, respond with initiative and make suggestions for improvements to own work and processes.
- Work collaboratively with others, providing clear and actionable feedback to expedite the approval process.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience of working in a compliance/legal department in a regulated environment ideally within asset management business.
- Strong understanding of key compliance and legislative requirements around financial promotion, data, social media, privacy, security and communication standards.
- Excellent verbal, written and influencing skills - in person and remotely.
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
- Relevant industry qualification in a related compliance or legal discipline - desirable.
- Additional language skills will be a plus.
