On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Senior Model Validation Manager for an initial 6 month contract based in London/Edinburgh/Remote.

Purpose of the role:

The Senior Model Validation Manager is responsible for independently validating key models across M&G and ensuring compliance with Solvency UK and other regulatory requirements. The role supports effective model risk management through oversight, challenge, stakeholder engagement, and presenting validation outcomes and recommendations to senior committees.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct independent validation of capital, pricing, and valuation models to assess their accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Summarise validation findings, present key outcomes to senior stakeholders and committees, and agree remediation actions with model owners where required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders to build out coverage of our model development risks and support any developments to the risk framework.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G plc's operational risk.
  • To support the reporting of the quarterly model change log to the PRA and results of the Solvency UK Compliance exercise to senior committees and Boards.

The skills you'll need:

  • Strong experience in actuarial/statistical modelling, model validation, model risk management, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong 2nd line independent model validation experience (essential)
  • Proven ability to provide independent challenge and oversight of technical models, methodologies, and development risks.
  • Good understanding of risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and compliance environments within Financial Services.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and organisational skills, with the ability to identify issues and connect risks across the business.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, influencing outcomes, and building effective relationships across teams.
  • Proficient in Python, Power BI, or R, with the ability to quickly understand and explain complex technical concepts.
  • Professional qualification such as a Qualified Actuary or CFA preferred, along with project management and communication skills
