On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Project Manager Finance- Regulatory Change for a 9-month contract based in Edinburgh. It will be a hybrid model. We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and also offer workplace accommodations to ensure you have what you need to effectively deliver in your role.
Purpose of the role: Reporting to Head of Finance Change Portfolio, this role owns the end-to-end delivery of Regulatory projects. You will be responsible for driving the project objectives, scope, resources and expected business outcomes, together with detailed project plans. You will be expected to implement and adhere to the required project management methodologies and governance and provide the project team with direction and confidence to deliver and leverage the expected benefits.
What you’ll do:
- Project Leadership: Owns end-to-end delivery of medium to complex, regulatory-focused finance projects, defining scope, objectives, resources, and expected benefits.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitates collaboration with technical accountants, sponsors, and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment and securing organisational buy-in.
- Planning & Governance: Develops high-quality project plans, work packages, and risk mitigation strategies while adhering to governance standards, maintaining RACI, RAID logs, and ServiceNow records.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Tracks project progress, monitors business case viability, and reports to sponsors, programme managers, steering committees, and other impacted stakeholders.
- Risk & Issue Management: Independently identifies, mitigates, and escalates risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery and maintain project momentum.
- Team Leadership & Development: Plans resources, motivates teams, and provides guidance, mentoring, and coaching to ensure high-quality output and customer-focused delivery.
- Handover & Benefits Realisation: Ensures smooth transition to BAU, completes benefits realisation activities, and manages relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and technology functions for successful delivery.
The skills you’ll need:
- Confident in engaging across all organisational levels, facilitating workshops, building relationships, and influencing or constructively challenging stakeholders.
- Strong Finance and regulatory change background.
- Experienced in managing multiple projects, resources, priorities, and budgets with advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and financial oversight.
- In-depth understanding of financial services, asset management, and regulated environments, including ESG and relevant regulations.
- Able to anticipate, prioritise, and resolve issues, articulate complex concepts, and provide commercial insight on contractual and operational risks.
- Motivates teams, fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment, exercises sound judgment, and delivers results in high-pressure, compliance-focused settings.
