On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Project Accounting Lead based in Edinburgh/London for a 6-month contract. It will be a hybrid model. We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and also offer workplace accommodations to ensure you have what you need to effectively deliver in your role.
Purpose of the role: Provide subject matter expertise (SME) in Life financial reporting and accounting to support delivery of the Life Cost & Financial Reporting (LC&FR) transformation programme, helping modernise processes, improve IFRS and regulatory reporting, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort and contractor reliance across Finance, Actuarial and Systems teams.
What you'll do:
- Provide technical accounting leadership across Life products, ensuring outcomes align to IFRS, Solvency UK and internal policy requirements
- Act as the primary SME interface between Finance, Actuarial, Change and Systems teams
- Lead design and implementation of target-state reporting processes and controls
- Review and challenge accounting treatments, journal design and reporting outputs
- Support development of robust control frameworks aligned to audit and regulatory expectations
- Provide oversight and coaching to SME accountants and offshore resources (Mumbai)
The skills you'll need:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong Life insurance accounting knowledge (IFRS / regulatory reporting)
- Experience in finance transformation or system-led change programmes
- Strong stakeholder management across Finance, Actuarial and Technology
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions
