M&G Countryside Developments are undergoing a period of business growth and as such we would like to recruit another team member with countryside, land management skills and qualifications. This is to help M&G deliver immediate contract commitments and support a full 2026 forward order book. Clients M&G work with include Wildlife Trusts, Woodland Trust, Bristol Port, Keystone Environmental, FCC Environment, Ringway/Highways Agency, Forestry Commission, local authorities, private estates and more.
Experience and Training
The ideal candidate will come with supervisors/foreman experience and have either Forestry/Countryside/land management experience. Ideally the candidate will also have further vocational and technical training or qualifications around vegetation management, tractors and machines, fencing, brush cutting, spraying, forestry operations, chippers and woodland establishment and maintenance.
Essential Requirements / Qualifications
- Clean full driving licence
- Ground chainsaw qualifications
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Two references will be required
Desirable Requirements / Qualifications
- Brushcutters PA1,2&6
- Tractor/forestry machine qualifications
- Chippers / timber processing
Work Location and Hours
M&G are based at a yard near Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire and the working day will start and finish at the yard generally (working away approx. 25%). Hours are circa 7:00am – 17:00 Monday – Friday with occasional weekend work in particular over the summer (overtime pay and/or time off in lieu). Some jobs will require to meet at site, or for night stop overs if working on contracts further afield.
Salary
For the right candidate with appropriate qualifications salary would be in the range of £34,000-£38,000 per annum + benefits depending on experience.
