The Role

M&G Life covers over 5 million customers with more than £300 bn invested across all of its products and wrappers, and has an ambitious growth plan for 2025 and beyond. M&G Life operations work with a number of partners including Equiniti, Diligenta, Waystone, Paragon, Willis Towers Watson, as well as M&G Global Services supporting our in‑house operation. The Tooling, Governance & Control Lead is responsible for selecting, maintaining, and driving adoption of delivery tools (e.g. Jira, ServiceNow), as well as developing and enforcing governance frameworks and control processes. This role ensures robust compliance, high‑quality reporting, and data‑driven insights for portfolio health. The Lead works directly with Portfolio Directors, Heads of Delivery, and PMO, and is accountable for closing audit actions and supporting delivery teams through training and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Select, implement, and maintain delivery tools, ensuring they meet the needs of the change function.
  • Develop and enforce governance frameworks and control processes across all change teams.
  • Drive tool adoption and provide training and support to delivery teams.
  • Lead on reporting, dashboards, and data quality for change delivery, providing actionable insights to Portfolio Directors.
  • Track data and insights to provide clear views of portfolio health.
  • Ensure audit actions are closed and compliance is maintained.
  • Represent the function in audits, governance forums, and tool selection committees.
  • Collaborate with PMO and delivery teams to ensure best practice in tooling and governance.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience with delivery tools (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.) and governance frameworks in a change or transformation environment.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, with experience in reporting and dashboarding.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and training skills.
  • Ability to drive adoption and compliance across diverse teams.
