The Role
M&G Life covers over 5 million customers with more than £300 Bn invested across all of its products and wrappers, and has an ambitious growth plan for 2025 and beyond. M&G Life operations work with a number of partners including Equiniti, Diligenta, Waystone, Paragon, Willis Towers Watson, as well as M&G Global Services supporting our in‑house operation.
The Best Practice Lead is responsible for defining, embedding, and continuously improving delivery standards and methodologies across the change function. This role designs frameworks and guidance, drives lessons learned, and ensures best practice is adopted throughout the organisation. The Best Practice Lead works closely with delivery teams and senior leaders, representing best practice in governance forums and supporting the upskilling of colleagues where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and embed delivery standards, methodologies, and frameworks across all change teams.
- Design and maintain best practice guidance, ensuring it is current, practical, and aligned to organisational goals.
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, feedback loops, and regular reviews of delivery approaches.
- Represent best practice in governance forums and influence senior leaders to ensure adoption.
- Work closely with delivery teams to support the practical application of standards and frameworks.
- Run training sessions, workshops, and communities of practice to support upskilling (as required).
- Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on best practice for change delivery.
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven experience designing and embedding best practice frameworks in change or transformation functions.
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Relevant qualifications/certifications (e.g. Agile, Lean, project/programme management) are desirable.
