THE ROLE

In partnership with team members, the Event Management Specialist will provide support to the MFS Event Management team on several key areas of meeting management including speaker request and coordination, event planning, and technical support. This role will work across hosted and sponsored events supporting event planners to deliver a seamless event experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist the Event Management Team meeting planners with the coordination for both internal and external meetings.
  • Responsibility potentially includes assisting with venue research, coordinating food, beverage and AV needs.
  • Setting up budgets, gathering documentation per guidelines and assisting on-site if required.
  • Assist when required with Cvent registration sites, WorkFront support, reporting and other tasks as required.
  • Supporting the MFS Speaker Coordination Team (SCT) as a liaison between the Investment team and MFS Distribution channels on all meeting-related communication issues.
  • Quickly gain knowledge of the application used to track, monitor and inform all parties of the details of all investment speaker requests.
  • Other event administrative duties as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Financial Services experience preferred.
  • Professional experience in meeting planning or hospitality industry.
  • Experience with virtual event platforms, knowledge of Cvent or similar event registration software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm in a crisis and effective time management is mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team-working, collaboration, the ability to problem solve and build solid professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees and outside parties at all organizational levels.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and experience of building PowerPoint slides) and able to develop proficiency in MFS systems as required to perform the duties of this position.
