Location: Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire Salary: £43,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am4:00pm, plus one Saturday morning in three MFK Recruitment is recruiting a

Transport Manager to support the safe, efficient and legally compliant operation of a busy waste and transport depot in Bishops Cleeve.

Reporting to the Depot Operations Manager, you will help manage the daily transport operation and supervise transport office employees, drivers and operational teams.

You will ensure vehicles and drivers remain compliant, operational resources are used effectively and customers receive their scheduled services.

Transport Manager Responsibilities

Support the daily supervision of depot and transport employees.

Promote high standards of safety, performance and accountability.

Support employee inductions, probation reviews, training and development.

Monitor attendance and address performance or conduct concerns.

Hold regular team meetings, briefings and toolbox talks.

Administer driver bonus and incentive schemes accurately and consistently.

Ensure drivers hours and mobile workers records comply with current legislation.

Report and investigate accidents, injuries and operational incidents.

Identify training requirements across the transport operation.

Work with fleet, workshop and vehicle hire providers to maintain safe and roadworthy vehicles.

Maintain compliance with Goods Vehicle Operator Licensing requirements.

Ensure drivers and mates receive appropriate end-of-shift debriefs.

Monitor and maintain relevant transport accreditation standards.

Ensure the depot is prepared for internal, health and safety and regulatory inspections.

Support budget monitoring and operational reporting.

Identify opportunities to improve service, safety and efficiency.

Promote strong customer service standards across the depot.

Transport Manager Requirements

Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence, CPC.

Previous experience within transport, logistics, waste management or a similar operational environment.

Previous supervisory or management experience.

Good knowledge of drivers hours, operator licensing and health and safety legislation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good numerical, analytical and reporting skills.

Confident decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems.

Full UK driving licence.

A HGV Class 2 licence would be advantageous but is not essential.

This position would suit an experienced Transport Supervisor, Assistant Transport Manager, Transport Operations Manager or qualified Transport Manager looking to take the next step in their career.
