About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a Managing Consultant within Solutions Architecture to operate at the intersection of strategic leadership, hands-on delivery, and business growth. You will lead complex transformation programmes while shaping architectural strategy across multiple domains, remaining close to the technology to guide teams and ensure high-quality outcomes.
Alongside your delivery responsibilities, you will play a pivotal role in driving business development—leading pre-sales activities, shaping proposals, and building long-term client relationships, particularly within the financial services sector. This role requires a balance of commercial acumen and deep technical expertise, with the credibility to engage both C-suite stakeholders and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape and communicate architectural strategies across application, business, and integration domains.
- Lead architecture on large-scale transformation programmes, maintaining hands-on involvement in solution design where needed.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as both a strategic advisor and technical authority.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value and measurable outcomes.
- Lead and contribute to pre-sales activities, including solution shaping, proposals, and client presentations.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, leveraging existing networks and relationships.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to define architecture roadmaps and solution direction.
- Mentor and support architects and engineering teams, fostering high performance and technical excellence.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience leading solution architecture across multiple domains (application, business, integration).
- Strong blend of hands-on technical expertise and strategic leadership within enterprise environments.
- Proven track record in business development, including pre-sales, proposal development, and client engagement.
- Experience working within or alongside the financial services sector, with an established network of senior stakeholders.
- Ability to engage confidently at all levels, from C-suite through to engineering teams.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks and modelling tools such as UML and ArchiMate.
- Broad knowledge of modern and emerging technologies, with experience across:
- Cloud & Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM, Oracle, Salesforce
- Architecture & Delivery: Microservices, packaged solutions, cloud and on-premise models, agile delivery, digital transformation
- Modern Architectures & Tools: Cloud-native architectures, IoT, UML, ArchiMate
