Job Summary – Roofer (Including Leadwork)
MF Roofing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in roofing and construction, with proven experience in a variety of roofing systems and materials—including leadwork. This role requires working at heights, handling heavy materials, and using both hand and power tools to install, repair, and maintain roofs to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems on both residential and commercial properties.
- Carry out basic leadwork, including flashing, cladding, and weatherproofing, in line with traditional and modern techniques.
- Conduct roof inspections to identify damage or wear and recommend effective solutions.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and building plans to ensure precise installation.
- Fabricate and shape roofing and lead materials as required for specific projects.
- Work with masonry and other structural materials when necessary for roof integration.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, especially when working at heights.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout each project.
- Full UK Driving license with no more than 6 points
Experience & Skills Required
- Proven experience in roofing, including leadwork, or a related construction field.
- Skilled in the safe handling of materials and heavy lifting techniques.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment.
- Ability to accurately plumb and align structures during installation.
- Experience in welding or material fabrication is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, roofing standards, and safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
