What about the role?

  • As Head of Technical Accounting your role will be broad with exposure to C-level and teams across the bank working on business as usual alongside lots of ad hoc projects.
  • Lead technical accounting assessments and structuring for new M&A transactions, products and significant contracts.
  • Lead and own the delivery of the annual report, managing internal inputs and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare management judgement papers on accounting papers for the Audit Committee.
  • Lead/support on process improvements, utilisation of AI to enhance automation of tasks.
  • Lead the approach to ESG and sustainability reporting.
  • Lead, mentor and develop 1 direct report.
  • Lead on external audit for all technical accounting matters.

What experience will you have?

  • You will be post qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post qualified experience.
  • You could be in a Technical Accounting role or a Financial Reporting role with technical accounting elements. You could additionally be working within Audit or Accounting Advisory services within a leading accounting firm and seeking a move to industry.
  • You will have experience working within banking comfortable working with IFRS9 and hedge accounting as examples.
  • A desire to work within a fast moving environment where you have the ability to influence the shape of the role and wider finance.

What about hybrid and office working?

2 to 3 days office and 2 to 3 from home.
