You’ve done the support thing. Now you’re making waves in the project delivery world. You want to spend more of your time delivering real improvements, not just firefighting day-to-day issues. Whether it’s rolling out new infrastructure, upgrading core systems, or getting stuck into cloud migrations, you’re someone who enjoys getting things done properly.

This is your opportunity to join a well-established internal IT team in Portsmouth, stepping into a Project & Infrastructure Engineer role where you'll lead on a wide range of infrastructure projects, with occasional senior support escalations when needed.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
  • Location: Portsmouth (office-based for collaboration and delivery)
  • Time Off: 43 days annual leave (you read that right!)
  • Pension: 26% pension
  • Impact: Take ownership of projects that make a real difference across the organisation
  • Focus: Project-led role with occasional involvement in high-level BAU escalations
  • Stability: Work in a supportive environment with long-term backing and low turnover

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering infrastructure projects across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Planning and implementing upgrades, migrations, and system improvements.
  • Working with a Microsoft-focused stack - Windows Server, Microsoft 365, AD, Azure, etc.
  • Acting as a senior escalation point for the IT support team when issues need deep technical input.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and the wider IT team to scope and deliver change.
  • Documenting your work clearly and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong infrastructure experience - you’ve delivered projects, not just supported them.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, M365, AD, Azure).
  • Comfortable working across networks, servers, and cloud platforms.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and a logical, methodical approach.
  • Someone who thrives in a project-focused role but is happy to roll up their sleeves for the occasional high-level support escalation.
  • A team player who takes ownership and enjoys seeing things through to completion.

This isn’t a reactive support job. It’s your chance to drive improvements, lead projects, and shape the future of the organisation’s infrastructure - all while being backed by a genuinely supportive team and industry-leading benefits.
