Help make the world more hospitable. The hospitality industry is uniquely human, and it deserves technology that’s just as inspiring as the people behind it. At Mews, we’re transforming the industry with a platform that helps hotels run smarter, move faster and create better guest experiences. You’ll work with smart, curious people who care deeply about what they do. You’ll have autonomy and the trust to make good decisions and move quickly. And you’ll enjoy a real sense of purpose as you see the impact of what we’re building.
If you’re motivated by ownership, curiosity and meaningful impact, and are driven to deliver consistent high performance, you’ll feel at home here.
About the role: It’s impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distil it into a job description, it would be this:
- You will own Mews' finance data world: the pipelines, platforms and practices that turn complex operational, RevOps, Financial Services, billing and core finance data into reliable, auditable insight teams can act on.
- You will head up and grow the Finance & Regulatory Data team across Europe, and own the strategy, architecture and roadmap for Mews' finance and regulatory data platform.
- This role exists to replace manual, spreadsheet-based processes with a governed, auditable, automation-first platform.
What you would do:
- Head up and grow the Finance & Regulatory Data team, including data engineers and a data scientist, across Europe.
- Own the strategy, architecture and roadmap for Mews' finance and regulatory data platform.
- Prioritise and deliver data projects that serve Corporate Finance, FP&A, Financial Systems, FinTech and RevOps.
- Raise the bar on data quality, governance, lineage and auditability for all finance and regulatory data.
- Partner closely with finance and business stakeholders to translate needs into clear data solutions and narratives.
- Reduce manual, spreadsheet-based processes through automation, advanced analytics and ML-powered insights.
What you would bring:
- Hands-on data management experience with large-scale data infrastructure, Databricks is ideal, Snowflake or similar lakehouse platforms also work well.
- Comfortable engaging with architecture and code, even without shipping every pipeline yourself.
- Proven experience in finance-heavy, regulated or complex environments, SaaS with a strong finance lens is a strong plus.
- Strong instincts for control, auditability, lineage and trust in numbers, understanding that finance data needs to be governed differently.
- A track record of guiding small, senior teams through ambiguity and change.
- Confidence partnering with the CFO, senior finance stakeholders and senior tech stakeholders as a true peer.
- A leadership style that combines high standards with empathy and clarity, direct but able to keep the team engaged and motivated.
- You use AI as a real part of your workflow, not as a novelty.
- AI Fluency Level 4: you don't just use AI in your own work, you build AI-powered systems.
Nice to have:
- Experience building or maturing finance data platforms to serve growing regulatory, governance and audit demands.
- Exposure to financial services, payments or other regulated industries.
- Experience linking operational data to financial outcomes, such as revenue models, churn prediction or leakage detection.
What’s in it for you?
Our success is powered by our incredible people, supported by benefits that help them thrive.
- Unlimited paid holiday.
- Participation in our company share program.
- Paid parental leave (6 months fully paid for primary caregivers, 2 months for secondary, available after one year of service).
- An annual Learning budget of 300 (and more for high performers) to support your development.
- Monthly "EDGE" time to Explore, Develop, Grow, and Elevate yourself.
- A work from anywhere policy with flexibility to work abroad for a few weeks each year.
- Relocation options, available after one year.
- Flexible, hybrid working options.
