Overview
In this role you build end-to-end payments solutions within Mews' Acquiring domain, shaping how hotels accept and settle payments. You own initiatives from problem framing to production and iteration, working in a small, autonomous team to deliver measurable impact. You will design scalable payment systems, leverage AI to accelerate delivery, and create reusable patterns to help other builders. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role in a fast-growing fintech environment.

Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of product initiatives in Acquiring: define problems, prototype solutions, ship to production, and iterate from customer feedback
- Design and implement systems powering card and alternative payment acceptance, payment-facilitator layer, and ledger reporting
- Leverage AI to accelerate development, set AI use standards, and build reusable approaches
- Establish reusable patterns and frameworks to accelerate others and mentor colleagues pursuing this path
- Work in a small, autonomous domain team with leadership support as needed
Key requirements
- Seven or more years delivering customer-facing software with measurable business outcomes
- Hands-on experience using modern AI tooling (e.g., Claude, Cursor, or agent frameworks) as a core part of development
- Experience integrating a payment service provider or acquirer at scale: APIs, webhooks, idempotency, reconciliation
- Strong product instincts with ability to make independent product decisions without waiting for PM/Designer
