MEC is a privately owned, multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy operating nationally. We provide specialist services to private and public sector clients across residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education, and healthcare sectors. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Utilitiy Surveyor to join our Geomatics team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, self‑motivated surveyor who is keen to progress their career in Geospatial Engineering, working on a diverse range of projects.
Key role responsibilities:
- Conduct utility surveys and assist with land surveysin line with client specifications and industry standards.
- Carry out site data capture, processing, and production of survey drawings, reports, and data files.
- Ensure quality assurance and rigorous checking procedures on all deliverables.
- Liaise with clients on‑site regarding H&S procedures and project specifications.
- Proactively report on project progress and assist with project management.
- Support the training and mentoring of junior team members.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Maintain and manage survey equipment, vehicles, and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with ICES, TSA, and other relevant professional standards.
- Maintain valid CSCS card and uphold best practices in site/construction safety.
Key skills, experience and attributes required:
Essential:
- Proven experience in Utility Surveys/ Underground Utility Mapping
- Experience using relevant equipment and software including: Total Stations, GNSS survey‑grade equipment, LSS, and AutoCAD.
- Willingness to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays.
- Full, clean UK driving licence (company van provided for work purposes).
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Measured Building Surveys, 3D Laser Scanning, REVIT, or Land Surveying.
