Mewburn Ellis is the forward-looking IP firm. We have recently made a significant investment in substantially enhancing our patent litigation practice. Our early focus has been on life sciences litigation, where our deep technical expertise, integrated UPC and UK litigation offering, and long-standing client relationships give us a strong platform for growth. Despite being in place for less than a year, we are already representing large pharma and biotech clients in UK High Court and UPC proceedings, alongside our existing body of active litigation in both venues.

As our litigation practice continues to expand, we are now looking for a Senior Litigation Paralegal to support the next phase of our growth. This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced litigation professional who enjoys combining people development, project management and legal operations within a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

The role involves:

  • Coordinating the operational delivery of complex litigation matters.
  • Developing our two litigation paralegals and our processes.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of litigation support activities across multiple matters.
  • Ensuring that cases progress efficiently, key deadlines are met and the right resources are deployed at the right time.
  • Acting as a central point of coordination with clients, counsel, experts, foreign associates and internal teams.
  • Involvement in the coordination of UK and UPC litigation, hearing and trial preparation, multi-jurisdictional disputes, matter planning and the development of best-practice procedures.
  • Taking ownership of operational improvements and establishing scalable processes and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Joining us, you'll enjoy an environment that is friendly, collaborative and developmental. We have a forward-looking, ambitious and inclusive approach at Mewburn Ellis, and as our most senior Litigation Paralegal, you will have genuine opportunity to influence how the function develops whilst building your own career.

You will have the opportunity to work with market-leading lawyers on high-profile disputes while developing your overall expertise and capabilities. Due to the breadth of the role, you'll gain exposure to litigation operations, strategic planning, coaching and mentoring and process improvement within one of Europe's leading IP firms. Our successful growth story is down to our people, and we take the wellbeing of our people seriously, offering a huge suite of initiatives to de-stress, engage and enthuse.

About you:

  • An enquiring, solution-orientated mind and a high-quality focus.
  • Substantial experience supporting complex litigation matters and a strong understanding of litigation processes and procedural requirements.
