Role Title: Group Managing Director

Location: National role
Our client is a successful, entrepreneurial Facilities Management business who are seeking to recruit a Group Managing Director, to lead the management and development of the company.
Reporting to the shareholders, this newly created opportunity will be responsible for leading the operational, commercial and support functions of the business, winning work and managing key client relationships to achieve the long-term objectives.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a medium and long term growth strategy in conjunction with the owners
- Identifying growth opportunities and areas for business development, such as new markets, services, or technologies
- Playing a key role in winning new contracts, identifying opportunities to grow the business in new sectors and services, and developing existing client relationships
- Overseeing the preparation of high-quality bids
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as industry-specific standards
- Leading, motivating, and developing the HR, Business Development and Finance leaders along with the managers of the individual companies, ensuring they align with the Company’s strategic objectives
- Managing the Group’s P&L, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded
- Overseeing Group budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Promoting a positive, performance-driven culture across the Group
- Monitoring and mitigating business risks, including financial, operational, and reputational risks
- Training, developing and mentoring the Management Team
Candidate requirements:
A background of developing and growing businesses in the Security or “soft” FM sectors with an existing network of relationships
P&L business management experience and commercial awareness, with a good grounding in contract management
A strong commercial operator who understands how to win high-value contracts through high-quality proposals and effective marketing
- Proven business development capability, with the ability to build strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Financial awareness – able to manage the business with the right KPIs, oversee major bids and have a good understanding of how to drive profit and revenue growth within a services business.
