Join us as a Mechanical Design Engineer for cutting-edge industrial X-ray systems! In this role, you will create innovative, reliable, and safe designs for both standard and custom solutions. Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams to bring your ideas to life, using your expertise in mechanical and electrical design and CAD software. You will also oversee prototype development, improve manufacturability, and drive continuous improvements to deliver top-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
What You Will Do:
- Stay current with compliance standards and integrate them into mechanical design processes.
- Collaborate with project leaders to define technical requirements and ensure high-quality mechanical designs.
- Lead problem-solving efforts for production and field issues related to mechanical designs.
- Ensure mechanical designs meet guidelines for manufacture, assembly, service, and testing, working closely with electronics, software, and other teams.
- Act as a technical authority on mechanical design, focusing on safety, quality, cost, performance, and reliability.
- Optimise design resources by leveraging internal and external expertise.
- Perform key mechanical design tasks and collaborate with vendors on design for manufacture and assembly.
- Manage bill of materials and champion value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Qualifications in a relevant field (degree/ HNC/ HND).
- Experience with CAD (Autodesk).
- Design experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, and welding.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage often changing priorities with ease.
- A passion for delivering complex problems with simple, high-quality solutions.
- Enthusiastic and hands-on with a ‘can do’ outlook.
