We have an opening for a Sales Application Engineer to join our team in Salford, our Metal Detection Strategic Business Unit. In this role, you will handle drawings and costings for engineered solutions and drive innovation through design improvements, cost savings, and faster delivery of both standard and custom products. Your technical and product expertise will help support our international sales channels (MOs), Inside Sales team and Market Managers.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide quotes, technical drawings, and support to meet KPI targets, demonstrating strong commercial awareness.
  • Use systems like SAP, OLC, and SharePoint to support sales channels.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Engineering, and wider teams to improve processes, share industry knowledge, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and address underperformance in processes and customer service, implementing improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and MO channels, including customer visits to support new business.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with company policies and procedures.

What You Need to Succeed

  • At least 2 years’ engineering, manufacturing and/or technical sales background.
  • Minimal HND level qualification or equivalent (Level 5) in a relevant discipline.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering design and process for highly customised application.
  • Experience within both project (new standard product ranges) and bespoke (NSMTO / ETO) engineering design business.
  • Ability to time manage own projects effectively and self-direct where necessary.
