We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Axo33 engineering team and contribute to the development, integration and delivery of industrial software systems used in live operational environments.
About the Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing and deployment of software components across the Axo33 platform. You will work closely with Senior Engineers, Product Owners, Systems Engineers and other technical team members to deliver reliable software solutions integrated with real-world industrial systems. This is a hands‑on engineering role with a strong focus on system integration, real‑time processing, industrial automation and practical software delivery. You will support the development of product features, contribute to technical design discussions, and help deliver robust systems for mining and bulk materials handling operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality software across backend systems and real-time processing components
- Contribute to APIs, services and data pipelines for operational systems
- Support integration with industrial systems, including PLC/SCADA, telemetry and third-party platforms
- Assist with the development of algorithms for real-time optimisation and control of industrial equipment
- Work with sensor data such as LiDAR, positioning and telemetry to support modelling and decision systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product features from design through to deployment
- Participate in testing, commissioning support and issue resolution for deployed systems
- Contribute to code quality, testing practices, documentation and deployment processes
- Work under the guidance of senior technical staff while building capability across the Axo33 platform
