This recruitment is carried out anonymously. We are looking for a Senior Operator to join our team in Boston.
What will you get to do?
- The successful candidate will work as part of an experienced team and help cover all aspects of manufacturing of timber, sheeted and MDF products from across a range of specialised production lines.
- Process raw materials into finished goods of a high standard that are distributed from site directly to our customers.
- Set and operate high-tech specialised machinery such as bandsaws, planers, in-line cross cutting machinery, automated and manual machinery whilst maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Account for materials in/out via our operating systems.
- Operate a front lift and side lifting MHE’s – full onsite training will be provided.
What is the job that awaits you?
- Embrace and promote a strong safety culture whilst maintaining high safety standards and working in accordance with site safety rules and SOP’s.
- Carry out daily safety checks, risk assessments and audits and have the ability to record and escalate findings to the relevant person(s)/departments Shift Leaders or Managers.
- Have a good understanding of quality standards and how to rectify any issues that may arise.
- Ensure quality responsibility in the production environment, maintaining high standards throughout production.
- Complete documentation control and task checks in line with SOP’s.
- Operate barcode and label application machines.
- Safely move products to and from the production lines using MHE, ensuring correct materials are picked and finished goods are stored in the correct locations.
- Manufacture products in line with CAD drawings ensuring company and customer requirements are met.
- Strive to achieve and exceed the company’s performance related metrics.
- Help keep downtime to a minimum through good setting and utilising problem solving skills, assisting the engineering team when required.

- A good understanding of health and safety knowledge.
- A proactive attitude to learning and implementing new concepts.
- Enthusiasm in your approach to work and daily tasks, holding a can-do attitude and being generally hardworking.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong I.T skills and confidence using technology.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to problem solve and provide useful solutions to improve performance and reduce downtimes.
- Ability to read and understand data from the sites metrics of Safety, Quality, Availability, Performance and OEE.
- Ability to read and follow a running plan.
- Keen understanding for Continuous Improvement works.
- Escalate matters appropriately through Leadership/Management channels.
- Flexibility to assist in different areas of operations when necessary.
