The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef ready for their next step. Sous Chefs are at the heart of our kitchens, with a true passionate focus on delivering exceptional dishes whilst guiding their brigade forward at Danson Stables.

Do you have:

  • High standard of food knowledge and skill with an eagerness to deliver delicious food using only fresh ingredients at Danson Stables
  • The experience to assist in managing and supervising the kitchen team
  • An up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, legal knowledge
  • A willingness to develop on a personal level in this quickly expanding collection of pubs.

Some of the things you will be doing as a Sous Chef:

  • Produce high-quality dishes in line with the specifications at Danson Stables
  • Supporting the Head Chef with recruitment and induction of new team members
  • Ensure that the kitchen always operates effectively and efficiently
  • Deputise in the absence of a Head Chef planning and directing food preparation where necessary
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and take control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen team to ensure overall team performance is at its highest at all times
  • Order supplies and stock inventory appropriately
  • Oversee deliveries
  • Conduct kitchen audits in line with company expectations, always maintaining the operational standards
  • Assist with stock-taking and periodic audits

Our food menu is brimming with a range of British classics and inspired indulgences, and our drinks offer a range of fine wines, spirits, cocktails, and, of course, pale ales and craft beers, bringing Bexley Heath the best in regional, local, and seasonal specials – including Bexley’s own beer! Whether our guests are joining us for pub lunch surrounded by glorious countryside, a pint by the fire pit in our secret garden, a large celebration or just a simple day out, Danson Stables is the perfect spot for it.
