This role is for a skilled and experienced Local Housing Manager who can provide excellent housing and estate services to our shared ownership and leasehold properties within a defined geographical patch. As the Local Housing Manager, you will be the front-facing representative of MTVH, coordinating internal and external services to meet the diverse range of needs of our customer base by delivering services both on an individual and local basis to a high standard.

It is essential that the ideal candidate has proven previous experience of dealing with customers presenting with complex or challenging needs. This role is predominantly based within office hours of 9-5.30pm, working a 37.5-hour week from Monday to Friday. You will be expected to be out on-site 2 days per week, with 3 days spent working from a local office or from home. Occasional flexibility with working hours will be required, and part of your job role will involve supporting our customers with local initiatives, which may occasionally include weekend work.

This role will also require you to manage relationships with the Local Authority, External Managing Agents, and other External Partners. You will be the point of contact for customers regarding general low-level ASB complaints, estate services, lease management, and enforcement.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Essential car user with a full driving license.
  • Experience of working in a social housing setting is essential.
  • Good working knowledge of housing practice, housing law, and the principles of service charge management.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Strong collaboration, networking, and team player skills.
  • Experience of dealing with customers from different backgrounds, presenting with complex or challenging needs.
  • Excellent administration skills and ability to analyse customer feedback to achieve service improvements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in writing, reporting, and numeracy.
  • Experience of dealing with customers face-to-face and responding to enquiries via phone and in writing.
  • Ability to self-manage a varied and demanding workload, prioritising and organising effectively.
  • A self-starter who shows innovation, initiative, empathy, and passion.
  • Excellent office management skills, including managing inboxes and keys.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
