Group Metropolitan carries out a wide range of projects covering builders work in connection to support our M&E services teams along with fit‑out projects either as a Main Contractor or as an internal department supporting our M&E teams on larger projects. We require a Fire Stopping Manager to work as part of our team based between site and our Canary Wharf office to manage all of our passive fire protection throughout the department from inception through to completion.

Requirements:
- Group Metropolitan undertake a significant amount of works outside of normal working hours which would need the ideal candidate to be flexible to the needs of the business and happy to travel and work some out‑of‑hours as part of this role.
- The ideal candidate would need to be qualified in fire stopping, hold SMSTS, CSCS, first aid and certified with FIRAS or similar third‑party accreditation and hold a clean driving licence.
- The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively at all levels with good organisational skills and be able to assist with pricing works, attending and taking notes at meetings, permit production and working on the company’s databases including Procure and 1Breadcrumb.
- There will be a requirement at times for the Manager to be on/off the tools as workload dictates this role.
Responsibilities Not limited to:
- Surveying & Technical Assessment: Conduct passive fire protection surveys including fire stopping inspections, compartmentation assessments, fire door inspections, and cavity barrier verification. Identify non‑conformances and provide clear remedial recommendations aligned with fire strategy and relevant British Standards. Develop detailed and accurate scopes of work based on site findings.
- Estimating & Pricing: Survey, scope, and price small‑scale passive fire protection projects. Prepare accurate cost estimates covering labour, materials, access equipment, and compliance requirements. Produce clear and commercially viable quotations for client approval. Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure pricing aligns with project scope and compliance needs.
- Standards & Compliance: Ensure all passive fire protection works are delivered in accordance with IFC certification standards and FIRAS third‑party accreditation requirements. Maintain compliance with quality assurance procedures, installation standards, and audit requirements associated with third‑party certification schemes. Prepare works and documentation to meet inspection criteria and external audit expectations.
- Digital Compliance & Reporting: Utilise Bolster System or another PC system to manage project documentation, photographic evidence, compliance reporting, and defect tracking. Maintain accurate digital records of installations, remedial works, and inspections. Generate professional compliance reports for client and regulatory review.
Further R&R to be agreed and developed as part of the role along with any training requirements.
