Qualifications
As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to drive standards, support the team, and ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. You'll:
- Lead by example during busy services, maintaining high standards under pressure.
- Support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operation.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation are always on point.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Support stock control, ordering, and GP management.
- Coach, motivate, and develop the wider kitchen team.
- Help create an environment where the team can thrive and grow.
What We're Looking For
We're searching for a strong, hands-on Sous Chef who brings energy, initiative, and a positive attitude to the kitchen. You’ll ideally have:
- 1-2 years' experience in a Sous Chef role or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fresh food environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- A passion for developing others and building a positive team culture.
- Good understanding of stock management, GPs, food safety, and compliance.
